We had such an overwhelming response over the last few years with Dark Twinn, that we decided to take the design another step further down the alternative performance rabbit hole and see how far we could push it.

So how do you make a badass board better? You redesign it for a specific purpose!

The original Dark Twinn, was designed as an all around board primarily for average waves waist high to head high. However, it proved itself to perform in even bigger surf, juicier surf, which was a main factor for taking a look at what attributes could be adjusted to make its sequel faster, more responsive and dependable on rail.

We pulled in the Dark Twinn’s sleek/active outline, and sharpened it into a more bladed out version, making the overall outline more of an aggressive performance shortboard look. A key component that brought the design to life was the inclusion of a swallow tail into the design which dictated the necessity to flare out the tail section behind the wing to complement the continuous deck line and square out the rails to give the board that precision cutting effect.

The design element adjustments and strategic combination of the original the tried and true elements of rocker, full-lower apex rail, and staged bottom contours translates to making the board feel “like a surgical knife”.

Wave range: Above average/ waist high to overhead. Punchy beach breaks and bowly point breaks. Use in conditions you would either use your standard performance shortboard.

Fin Configuration: Twin+trailer/ Suggest Twin only for advanced surfers. Intermediate surfers may want to use the trailer to get used to the performance before surfing as a straight twin.

Design Range: 5’4” to 6’6” Custom sizing available

Target Sizing: Similar sizing as your standard performance shortboard
